There are times during our life where we will go through difficulties It might be illness, financial instability, emotional problems, or the death of a loved one. We need our friends and family to pray for us. Because we are God’s children, he will tend to our needs. The Bible also makes us know that an intercessor is a true friend. Job 16:20- 21 affirms this, “My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man, he pleads with God as one pleads for a friend.” One of the things that will keep you moving forward, though, is the recognition that believers are praying for you. Here are some ways you will know prayer is happening so it can console you.

God Wants Our Lives To Overflow With Mercy, Love, And Compassion

When our brothers and sisters in Christ let us know they are praying for us, it makes us feel happy that believers have said they are praying for us during our hardship. We are glad they sent cards, emails, and texts. As friends and family, remember to do this for your loved ones.

We Need God’s Strength

No matter how big an obstacle in front of us may seem, if we rely on God’s power, we can overcome it. When we fully put our trust in Him, He walks alongside us. Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Somehow, though, you find the strength to press on- because God’s people are praying.

When The Burden Is Heavy, Sometimes Sleep Is Difficult

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22) God is glad to carry your burdens and give you the daily strength you need. Jesus also commanded us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. God grants us the rest in response to the prayers of others.

God Grants Us Grace And Guidance When We Need It

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”  During a bad or sad time in your life, you still need to make important decisions. You need to be alert and focused. God always grants grace and guidance just when we need it.  Others have been praying that way for you.

When You Are Going Through A Hard Time, Never Neglect The Gift Of Community

We need our community. Don’t isolate yourself from them as you will miss out on many blessings and prayer partners.

  • To be your support when you cannot stand on your own
  • To be a witness to your healing and remind you of the progress that you are making
  • To encourage you to continue to grow spiritually
  • To be a shoulder to cry on when you feel overwhelmed

Just Know You Are Not Alone

Even in hard times, you can rejoice because you are not alone! God is with you! Even when you’re in the valley, whether it be the valley of depression, illness, relationship difficulties, or grief, you can still rejoice. The Comforter in you is real and you can’t deny His work.  God’s presence in response to the prayer of his people has been undeniable. And that is exactly what you need.
